Overview
NIWA, or the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research, opened their laboratories facilities located on campus at the University of Waikato in 2023. The laboratories contain a mix of temperature-controlled rooms, as well as both transitional and non-transitional open-plan laboratories and enclosed laboratories, to cater for more specialised requirements.
Project NIWA consists of three separate buildings located within the one compound.
Our role
CxM Ltd acted as the ICA for NIWA (client) on this project.
Commissionability review of design documentation
Review trade commissioning plans
Monitor the construction process regarding the installation of commissioning items
Review commissioning test sheets
Conduct sample witnessing of each trade's system
Identify any shortfalls during commissioning
Observe that the systems operate as the design intended
Conduct 12-months fine-tuning post PC
